Series Description

The Holy Lands series applies Bauhaus restraint to ancient symmetrical forms through experimental darkroom techniques. Light is sculpted through the glass and carried through layers of gum dichromate emulsion, allowing color and geometry to settle into a clear, balanced composition.

Drawn to the rich patina of time, this work reproduces a color palette reflective of the sun-stained walls of Indian street corners and Moroccan Bazaars.. Pigment is built slowly through repeated exposures, creating measured fields of color informed by geometric colorists and early modern abstraction.
